44 sued over Noakhali UP member murder

A case has been filed against 44 people over the murder of union parishad member Rabindra Chandra Das in Noakhali's Hatiya upazila.

Char Ishwar Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Halim Azad was also accused in the case, reports our Noakhali correspondent.

Meanwhile, police arrested two people -- Azad (34) and Sumon Das (40) -- in connection with the killing, added the OC.   

The victim's son Chandra Das filed the case accusing15-20 named and the rest unknown people with Hatiya Police Station this afternoon, said Abul Khayer, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Rabindra Chandra Das (48), a member of Char Ishwar Ward-3 and the upazila unit Awami League's executive committee, was shot dead by a group of unidentified people in Noakhali's Hatia upazila early yesterday.
