War crimes evidence found against 3 Moulvibazar men
Investigators of International Crimes Tribunal have found evidence against three persons of Moulvibazar over their alleged involvement in war crimes committed during the country's Liberation War in 1971.
Investigation agency of the tribunal today formally told reporters about their findings against -- Abdul Aziz alias Abul, 64, Abdul Matin, 63, and Abdul Mannan alias Monai, 64. Of them, Aziz and Mannan are in jail while Matin remains absconding.
The charges brought against them include killings of three people, injuring another, torturing 11 people, raping two women and looting eight houses and torching three houses in Borolekha of Moulvibazar.
Investigation agency coordinator Hannan Khan and co-coordinator Sanaul Huq told reporters at a press conference at the agency's at Dhanmondi office.
"We will hand over the probe report and other documents to the chief prosecutor's office today," Hannan said.
"There is some progress in the preliminary investigation," he said adding, "If we found sufficient evidence and witnesses, we will start formal investigation against him."
