Villagers snatch 'drug peddler' from BGB men

Five Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were injured when a group of villagers snatched away an alleged smuggler from their possession in Haluaghat upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Ratan Miah, 38, Anwar Hossain, 35, and Biplob, 37, were given first aid while Ruchi Marma, 23, and Ujjol Mia, 24, were admitted to Haluaghat Upazila Health Complex, police said.

The villagers snatched away Hazrat Ali from the the BGB men, said police.

During the incident, the villagers attacked the BGB men with sticks, Kamrul said quoting BGB sources.

 None was arrested as of filing of this report yesterday, police said.
