Two held with 1.5kg of heroin in Benapole

Detective Branch (DB) of Police detained two drug peddlers and seized 1.5 kilogram of heroin from their possession at bordering Sadipur village under Benapole Port Police Station on Friday.

The detainees are Shawkat Hossain, 40, son of Ahmed Ali and Habibur Rahman, 32, son of Sobhan Gazi of the village.

Jessore DB police said a team of the law enforces, acting on a tip-off, raided the area and arrested the duo while they were entering the country from India around 11:00pm.

After filing of a case, DB police handed the arrestees over to Benapole Port Police Station the same night.
