Three human traffickers arrested in Cox's Bazar

Three human traffickers were arrested in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of the district yesterday.

The detainees are Moulvi Ali Ahmed, 45, son of Thanda Mian of Lafargona village in Teknaf  upazila; Imam Hossain, 30, son of Sabbir Ahmed of Tulatali village, and Sayed Ahmed alias Saya, 30, of Sonarpara village under Ukhia upazila.

Md Ataur Rahman Khandaker, officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station, said law enforcers arrested Ali Ahmed, an absconding accused in several cases for murder and human trafficking, in a raid at Lafargona village at around 7:00am.

Police arrested Imam Hossain and Saya from Sonarpara village. The two, were wanted in human trafficking cases, said Officer-in-Charge Jahirul Islam Khan of Ukhia Police Station.

Later, the arrestees were produced before the Teknaf and Ukhia senior judicial magistrate's courts, which sent them to jail.
