Road blockade in C'nawabganj

Transport workers blocked Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi highway in the town for about five hours from 10:30am yesterday, protesting 'inactive' role of police over searching for a missing trucker and his helper.

Saiful Islam, driver of a Chapinawabganj-bound cement-laden truck from Dhaka, and his helper Ahadul Islam went missing in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail early Thursday, said Saidur Rahman, president of Chapainawabganj District Motor Sramik Union.

The following day, a case was filed with Mirzapur Police Station in this connection, he said.
