Peace TV to be taken off air, govt decides

Bangladesh government today decided to stop the airing of Peace TV, run by Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik – a decision taken by a top executive committee.

The cabinet committee on law and order chaired by Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu took the decision after two back-to-back attacks within July's first week.

Amu, who is the chief of the committee, made the disclosure at a press briefing at the secretariat.
