Missing woman found dead

A woman, who went missing on Saturday, was found murdered in Kishoreganj upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased, Marium Begum, 36, was the second wife of late Mojibur Rahman of Uttarpara village in the upazila. 

Quoting the deceased's family members, police said Mariam went out of her house on Saturday and did not return home.

Locals spotted Marium's decomposed body covered with water hyacinth in a nearby ditch yesterday morning and informed the police.

Marium's son Moslem Uddin, 15, however, alleged that his step brother Farid Ali, 20, often used to physically torture his mother since his father's death a year ago.

Nearly a week ago, Farid even threatened to kill his mother, he added.

Officer-in-Charge Bazlur Rashid of Kishoreganj Police Station said Marium's brother Azim Uddin filed a murder case against Farid with the PS yesterday.
