Man killed by elephant

An elderly man was killed and his son injured as a herd of marauding elephants attacked their house at Gurucharan Dudnai village in Jhenaigati upazila of the district early yesterday.

The deceased is Haji Rustam Ali, 70, of the village.

UNO M Selim Reza said a herd of 20/25 wild elephants came to the village looking for food. 

They swooped on Rustam's house at 2:30am and attacked them. Rustam died on the spot and his son Niamat was hospitalised.
