Man hacked to death

A man was hacked to death by criminals at Chapadaha village under Kahaloo upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Motin, 50, son of Boshir Uddin of the village.

Police said, quoting locals, that Motin was hacked while he was going to his house. Locals took him to Dupchanchia Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared him dead.

Wife of the deceased Romicha Begum lodged a murder case with Kahaloo Police Station on Monday, accusing two identified and a few unidentified people. One of the identified accused was arrested from the area, police said.

The arrestee is Belal Hossain, 43, of the village and cohort of the main accused Mostafa Ali, 45, a neighbour of the victim.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) (B Circle and media) in Bogra Gaziur Rahman said he visited the place of occurrence and one of the accused of the case was arrested and sent to the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court.

Motin might have been killed over personal feud and police will arrest the main accused very soon, the ASP added.
