Madrasa girl raped in Bogra

A madrasa girl was raped allegedly by a youth in Kalerpara village under Dhunat upazila of the district on December 24.

The victim lodged a case with Dhunat Police Station on Tuesday, accusing the youth and his two unidentified cohorts.

The accused is Milon Rahman, 24, son of Moti Mia of the village.

The victim is a student of Class X of Kalerpara Dakhil Madrasa.

The case statement said the accused had a personal relationship with the victim for a few months. On December 24, Milon convinced the girl to come out of her parents' house to get married.

Milon took the girl to a lonely place and raped her there. He then fled from the area with his cohorts after leaving the girl in her parents' house.

Police sent the girl to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) in Bogra for medical check-up yesterday.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhunat Police Station Mizanur Rahman said police have been conducting drives to arrest the accused in the case.
