Jubo League man shot, stabbed in Pabna

A Jubo League leader was shot and stabbed in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna last night, an attack what police believes is motivated from establishing supremacy.

The victim Md Kohidul Islam alias Abdul Kuddus, 30, is the secretary of Shahapur union unit of Jubo League, our local correspondent reports quoting police.

He was undergoing treatment at Pabna Medical College Hospital before being shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

About four to five criminals attacked Kuddus in Shahpur area about 8:00pm last night when he was on a motorcycle, locals said. They opened fire on him and stabbed him.

Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Police Station Md Abdul Hai said rivals might have attacked him over establishing supremacy in the area. Preparation for filing a case was underway.
