Indian visa centre kicks off in Jessore
The newly set up Indian visa processing centre started receiving visa applications from visa seekers in Jessore yesterday.
The centre received a total of 1,200 applications till 1:00pm that started 8:00pm on the first day, said Mofizur Rahman, an official of the centre.
President of the export-import subcommittee, India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries Limited, Motiur Rahman said the people of Jessore and adjacent areas will now be able to get Indian visas from Jessore. "It will save time and help visa seekers to get service without harassment," he added.
Journalist Noor Islam said a long queue of Indian visa seekers was seen on the first day, adding that he was happy with the opening of the centre.
Visa seekers will be able to submit their applications after paying the fees through UCash, officials said. E-token will be needed for tourist visas, they added.
