Fresh arson attack at Nasirnagar Hindu house
Miscreants again set fire to a house of Hindu man in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria this evening, 10 days after the house came under arson attack.
Unidentified criminals set fire to the cowshed of Anjan Kumar Dey, the upazila vice chairman, in Dattapara area around 6:30pm, said Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of police in Brahmanbaria.
None was injured in the arson attack as locals doused the fire immediately, the police official said adding that a group of vested quarter set the fire to create panic among the Hindu people.
On November 5, unidentified people set fire to a pile of straw near the house of Anjan, also president of the upazila unit of Jubo League.
The fresh attack, the sixth of its kind in the upazila, took place amid a massive outcry over the October 30 hate attacks on Hindu houses and temples over a Facebook post from the account of a local fisherman which "hurt the religious sentiment" of the Muslims.
