Family under pressure to withdraw case

A Junior School Certificate examinee, who was abused by a stalker on way to the examination centre in Sarishabari municipality of the district on Sunday, and her family are now under pressure by local influential people to settle the issue by withdrawing the case filed against the stalker.

The victim filed a case with Sarishabari Police Station on Tuesday accusing Golam Mostafa, 32, son of Ayen Uddin Mondal of Bolardiar under the municipality.

Since then, the victim's family members have not dared to come out of their house, elder brother of the victim said.

The girl could not sit for her mathematics examination due to assault by Golam Mostafa while she was on way to the examination centre at Reaz Uddin Talukdar High School in the municipality.
