Ex-minister Dulu among 100 sued
At least 100 BNP men, including president of district unit and former deputy minister Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, have been sued on charge of shooting at a Jubo League rally in the town on Saturday.
Two men of Jubo League and Bangladesh Chhatra League were injured in the shooting, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Natore Police Station.
Nazim Uddin, secretary of ward No 9 unit of Awami League, and 8 No ward unit Jubo League president Qamrul Islam on Sunday filed two cases in connection with the incident, he said.
On Saturday evening, BNP activists allegedly led by Faisal Alam Babul, joint secretary of district unit of Swechchhasebak Dal, opened fire on the Jubo League rally near Mamun Bakery at Tebaria in the town.
Nazmul Islam, joint convener of Natore municipality unit of Jubo League, and Rajib Hossain, an activist of Chhatra League, were bullet-hit in the incident.
Later, Nazmul and Rajib were admitted to Natore Sadar Hospital and Rajshahi Medical College Hospital respectively.
Police arrested 23 BNP men in this connection, said the OC.
