Eighth grader raped in Thakurgaon

An eighth grader has been raped by her neighbour in Thakurgaon's Baliadangi upazila, family alleges.

Victim's father has filed a case with Baliadangi Police Station in this connection this afternoon accusing three people, our local correspondent reports.

Shajahan, 28, has been named as the offender while his father Abdul Baten, 50, and mother Sufia Khatun, 42, have been accused in the case, said Mostafizur Rahman, officer–in-charge of the Baliadangi Police Station.

The victim, a 13-year-old girl who is appearing in the ongoing JSC examination, was studying in her room when Shahjahan called her out and raped her, victim's father told in the case statement.

Police is trying to arrest the culprits and the girl was sent to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital for medical test, the OC added.
