Christian mission guard stabbed dead in Dinajpur

A night guard of a Christian missionary was stabbed to death in Dinajpur Sadar upazila early today. 

The deceased is Suku Shoren, 45, son of Laxman Shoren of Auliapur village in the upazila and a guard of Auliapur Christian Mission, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.

Some unidentified criminals broke into the mission around 1:00am and stabbed Soren indiscriminately, said Supol Hembram, an official of Auliapur Christian Mission.

The assailants fled soon after they attacked Soren, he added.

Locals took Soren to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later. The body was kept at the hospital's morgue for autopsy.

Confirming the incident, Redwanur Rahim, officer-in-charge of Dinajpur Sadar Police Station, said that motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.
