Child marriage bid foiled

A schoolgirl was saved from child marriage in Bahubol upazila of Habiganj district on Friday night. Jhuma Akther, 14, a Class VIII student of Jagatpur High School in the area, was going to be married with one Sahed Miah, 38, of Jagatpur village. On information, Upazila Nirbahi Officer rushed to the spot and foiled the marriage. "I could not protest my parents' decision," said Jhuma.
