Cattle trader shot by BSF, dies

A Bangladeshi cattle trader, who was earlier shot by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Chapsar border in Haripur upazila, died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Wednesday evening.

The dead, Moinul Haque, 30, was son of Abdur Rafiq of Bhaturia Mulkan village of the upazila.  

On September 9, the BSF members of Moheshgaon camp opened fire on two Bangladeshi cattle traders, Moinul Haque and Mobarak Hossain, when they were entering India.

The cattle traders received bullet wounds, according to locals and BGB sources.    

Later, the BSF troops picked up Mobarak from the border. He is now under treatment at a hospital in Uttar Dinajpur of West Bengal. Moinul somehow managed to return to Bangladesh. 

Moinul was first admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
