Case puts justice seekers in danger
A murder case put life of the plaintiff and her school-going niece in great danger under Patuakhali Sadar upazila.
Both Taslima Begum and her niece Sukhi Akhter of Titkata area are facing death threat after filing of the case.
Not only this, even, slain Shah Jamal's 10-year-old daughter Sukhi, a candidate of upcoming PSC examination, cannot go to school as the men of the accused are continuously giving her death threat.
The victims made the allegation when some journalists visited their house on Saturday.
Sukhi said, "In spite of the examination starting from November 20, I cannot go to school as the men of prime accused in the case Anwar Hossain are continuously threatening me not to give statement to the court."
Plaintiff Taslima, also sister of slain Jamal, said they are now passing their days amid fear as the accused continued threatening them to withdraw the case.
On October 21, farmer Shah Jamal Gazi, 45, went out of home after receiving a phone call from neighbour Anwar. The following day, he was found dead near a fish enclosure.
Officer-in-Charge SM Tarikul Islam of Patuakhali Police Station said they are raiding different areas to arrest the accused.
