Bullet-hit robber dies at hospital
An alleged robber, who was shot by police, succumbed to his injuries at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) yesterday.
Deceased Mahbub Hossain, 45, of Gazipur, was accused in nine robbery cases, said Mymensingh Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Noor-e-Alam.
On secret information, detectives raided Boilor area in Trishal upazila early in the morning.
Sensing presence of the DB police, a robber gang in a pick-van attacked the law enforcers with knives.
In retaliation, police fired seven bullets, leaving Mahbub, the gang leader, injured. He was rushed to MMCH where he died in the afternoon.
They also arrested three cohorts of Mahbub from the spot, said the police official.
The arrestees are Alamgir Hossain, 28, Jamir Uddin, 30, and Manik Miah, 25, he said.
