A Sylhet court today indicted Badrul Alam, the lone accused in the case filed for attacking college student Khadiza Begum Nargis over a month ago.

After the charge framing, Judge Saifuzzaman Hiru of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court fixed December 5 for starting the trial of the case with deposition, reports a correspondent from Sylhet.

Khadiza, a second year degree (pass course) student of Sylhet Government Women's College, was hacked by Badrul Alam, who was a Bangladesh Chhatra League leader (BCL) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) unit, on October 3 where she went to attend an examination at Sylhet MC College.
On November 15, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of the district Umme Sharaban Tahura accepted the charge sheet police pressed accusing Badrul.
Over one and a half months past a brutal attack, Khadiza is now taking treatment at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) so that she could gain strength in her limbs.
She was shifted to the CRP from Square Hospital in Dhaka yesterday.
