Attack on Hindus: Family demands release of Rasraj

Family of detained Rasraj Das, who is in jail over the attack on Hindus in Brahmanbaria's Nasirnagar, today pressed the government for his release.

Father and mother of Rasraj came up with the demand at a press conference in Dhaka as they were disappointed over his detention.

Rasraj, a fisherman by profession and with background of little education, was detained after a Facebook post posted from a profile bearing his name triggered an attack on local Hindus on October 30.

Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajot organised the press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital to press home three-point demand including security of Hindu people in Nasirnagar upazila.

Probhas Chandra Roy, president of the organisation, also demanded release of Rasraj at the programme.
