Assault on journo protested

Newsmen of Dinajpur and Joypurhat at a human chain in Panchbibi upazila yesterday protested assault on a journalist by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

The victim is Moslem Uddin, Panchbibi upazila correspondent of Dainik Khobor Patra.

The speakers said a BGB man came under attack by a drug smuggler at Atapara in Panchbibi of Joypurhat on December 6.

At this, BGB members charged baton on the villagers, leaving 12 people injured. Moslem was also beaten mercilessly when he went there to collect news.

Additional BGB men have been deployed at the village soon after the incident.
