2 touchstone statues seized

A taskforce team comprising BGB and police in separate drives seized two touchstone statues from Uttargaon and Bhabandapur villages in Ranishankoil upazila of the district early yesterday. They also arrested two people in this connection. The arrestees are Md Hanif, 58, son of late Khoshu Mohammad, and his son Md Zabed Ali, 36, of Uttargaon village. The team in a drive seized a statue weighing 11.4 kg from a house at Uttargaon village. In another drive, they recovered another statue weighing about 52.8 kg from Bhabandapur village, said BGB sources.
