Brutal killing of N’ganj boy: Colleague gives confessional statement

The suspected killer of a teenage boy in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj today confessed to his crime before a court.

Yeamin, 16, a worker of BR Spinning Mills, was killed allegedly by pumping air through his rectum by one of his colleagues last night, our Narayanganj correspondent reported quoting police.

Hours into the incident, police detained his colleague Rayhan Hridoy, 18, in connection with the incident, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Alim, a duty officer of Sonargaon Police Station.

Hridoy gave his confessional statement before Narayanganj Judicial Magistrate Md Mahmudul Islam's court this afternoon, said Sub-Inspector Hasim Uddin of Sonargaon Police Station.

In the statement, Hridoy said air was pumped through Yeamin's rectum accidentally while cleaning cotton from Yeamin's body with a compressor machine and termed the incident as unintentional.

Immediately after the incident, Yeamin was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared him dead around 12:00am.

Victim's father, Shajahan Mia from Araihazar upazila, filed a case with Sonargaon Police Station this morning in this connection.

Earlier in July, another 10-year-old boy was brutally killed allegedly by pumping air into his body through his rectum in Rupganj upazila of the district.
