Another 108 recognised as freedom fighters

After 45 years of independence, another 108 artistes of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra have been considered as freedom fighters for their important roles during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.

The government today published a gazette notification recognising them as freedom fighters.

Earlier, the government has also recognised a total of 87 artistes, staff, and employees of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.

On June 26, the government defined as to who will be eligible to be considered as freedom fighter of Bangladesh's Liberation War of 1971.

According to the definition, artists of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, its medical team who treated freedom fighters and its football team have been considered as freedom fighters.
