RU hunger strike postponed on VC's assurance of action against BCL man

Rajshahi University Kendrio Sangskritik Jote yesterday postponed their hunger strike after the vice chancellor assured them of taking stern action against Bangladesh Chhatra League RU unit's assistant secretary who beat up a master's student on June 9.

Basudev Roy, a former president of the jote, was beaten up until he lost consciousness after a window of a restaurant he was opening on the campus slightly hit the head of the BCL leader, Saddam Hossain Sajib, who was sitting outside.

Basudev is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital for his broken shinbone.
