Code of conduct for TV ads sought
Speakers stressed the need for formulation of a code of conduct for television advertisements to maintain quality of programme contents.
Journalism and media studies department of Manarat International University (MIU) organised the seminar on "Effects of Excessive Television Commercials and its Contents in Bangladesh'' on its Mirpur campus yesterday with Prof Dr M Zahangir Kabir, head of the department, in the chair.
Vice Chancellor of MIU Prof Dr Choudhury Mahmood Hasan said women should not be used as a product in advertisements. CEO of SA TV Syed Salahuddin Zaki and Ershad Mazumder also spoke.
