NSU to stage World Cup Quiz 2026 for school and college students

North South University (NSU) is set to celebrate the FIFA World Cup by hosting the "NSU World Cup Quiz Challenge 2026" on its campus on July 17.

The event will be open to students from Class 8 to HSC or A levels for a thrilling battle. The quiz will feature questions covering the rich history of the FIFA World Cup, legendary records, iconic moments, and various facets of global football culture. This initiative has been undertaken by NSU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) to emphasise that higher education extends far beyond traditional academic boundaries.

Professor Dr MD Rizwanul Islam, Dean of SHSS, highlighted: “NSU places equal primacy on the intellectual growth and academic enrichment of its students across various science, business, humanities, and social science disciplines.”

To participate in the quiz, students must form a team of two members and register online. The registration link is www.quizshss.nsudeml.com.

Irtifa Zaman, one of the event's coordinators and a lecturer in the Department of History and Philosophy, stated, “The primary objective of this initiative is to channel the youth's passion for the World Cup into a positive and intellectual platform.”

Tasnim Ima, a lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Political Science, added, “This quiz competition will not only encourage students to engage in knowledge-based co-curricular activities but also give them a comprehensive understanding of NSU’s academic environment and state-of-the-art facilities.”

The champion team will receive BDT 50,000, the first runner-up will receive BDT 30,000, and the second runner-up will receive BDT 20,000. All participants will be honoured with certificates of participation.

Raisul Islam, a student of the Department of Media, Communication, and Journalism at NSU, noted that the event will serve as a magnificent convergence for networking and mutual learning, allowing participants to forge new, harmonious alliances while gaining competitive experience.
