Let's face it, coding to a layman does not seem like an easy task. It's sad but true that being an Engineer, I am partially when it comes to the world of coding, and I strictly restrict myself from being involved with something that seems so complex to me. With groundbreaking technological advancements across the world, I too have lately been curious about coding and have even considered whether I should try to learn how to code. Lucky for me the hour of code is here. If you have been living under a rock then let me explain: Hour of code is an initiative from the non-profit site Code.org where you dedicate at least an hour of your time to learn about coding. It's backed and supported by notable celebs globally and is catching on in Bangladesh too.

The 3rd annual Hour of Code is underway from 7th – 13th December. The primary aim of this event is to get more people, especially students, introduced to the basics of coding by providing a variety of educational tools online. Keeping up with the world more than 400 institute in Bangladesh will observe Hour of Code in Bangladesh this year.

This year's biggest event in Bangladesh is being hosted by Coder'sTrust, a Danish microfinance and programming skills provider. They have already partnered up with Microsoft, UNDP, Bank of Asia, BRAC to celebrate this event today. Anybody can  participate by signing up for a session in one of the following venues in Dhaka: Daffodil International University (DIU), Northern University Bangladesh (NUB), United International University (UIU), BD Jobs, American International University Bangladesh (AIUB), Coderstrust office, or online.

In addition to that, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) is celebrating Hour of Code by organizing online programming contest, national girls programming contest etc.
