Google DevFest 2015 Held
Google's Developer Fest, or DevFest in short, was recently held amidst much fanfare in Dhaka. Held at the Daffodil University Auditorium, the festival saw participation from students and renowned ICT persona alike.
Two sessions were held at the DevFest- one about Bangla computing and the other about youth's participation in ICT. In the first session, renowned technologist Mustafa Jabbar, Dept. Head of CSE at Daffodil University and President of the DevFest organizing committee Prof. Syed Akhtar Hossein, Google's Country Engineering Consultant Khan Md. Anwar us Salam and CEO of MCC Limited, Ashraf Abir participated in the panel discussion.
In his speech, Mustafa Jabbar emphasised on the fact that there is a distinct shortage of Bangla content in Google and urged the young generation to step up in rectifying the situation. He further added that instead of increasing the quantity of Bangla apps, developers should instead focus on improving the quality of the applications.
