Nagad rolls out redesigned app with enhanced security

Nagad has launched a redesigned mobile app aimed at making digital financial transactions faster, easier and more secure, with additional services planned for the future.

The app features a simplified interface, faster response and loading times, and enhanced security measures, according to a press release.

It is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Customers are advised to update the app before making transactions to ensure uninterrupted services.

Md Motasem Billah, the administrator appointed by Bangladesh Bank to Nagad, said the app prioritises customer convenience and financial security.

“We have combined a modern user-friendly experience with a robust security framework in the new app,” he said.

Nagad aims to build an ecosystem where customers can conduct all their daily financial transactions through a single app, Motasem said, adding that new services and security features would be introduced to meet evolving customer needs.

The app offers payments, money transfers, mobile recharges, cashouts, utility bill payments and interoperability services. Loans, fixed deposits and insurance will be added shortly, the release said.

Frequently used features have been organised for easier access, while the simplified interface is designed to make the app more accessible to marginalised communities.

To strengthen account security, the app introduces device binding and a multilayered security framework based on international standards.

Artificial intelligence has also been integrated to detect suspicious activity and help prevent fraud and AI-based hacking attempts in real time.

The new features are expected to support Bangladesh’s transition towards a cashless society, the release added.
