City Group to use Rahima Food’s bottling facilities
City Edible Oil, a concern of the local commodity conglomerate City Group, is going to utilise the spare bottling facilities of Rahima Food Corporation under a contract manufacturing agreement.
The two companies have signed a five-year deal to this effect, according to a disclosure by Rahima Food, a listed company on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
The agreement is renewable for another five years, subject to mutual consent, Rahima Food said in a disclosure to the DSE today.
Shares of Rahima Food gained 4.12 percent to Tk 144 as of 12:58pm at the DSE.
Rahima Food, incorporated in 1990, shifted to coconut oil production in 2017 to curb losses. A plant began operations in February 2022, followed by cashew processing in May. Soybean and mustard oil bottling facilities are under installation, according to its website.
As of November 30, 2025, sponsor-directors held 35.95 percent of the shares of Rahima Food, institutions held 6.42 percent, and the public 57.63 percent, as per DSE data.
