Yarn, fabric show kicks off in Dhaka

The Bangladesh Yarn, Fabrics & Accessories Show began yesterday in Dhaka, bringing together international suppliers of yarn, fabrics, garment accessories and textile chemicals.

Mohammad Hatem, president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), inaugurated the 13th edition of the four-day show at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Purbachal.

Held alongside the Bangladesh TEXCHEM Expo 2026, the exhibition is open to business visitors from 11am to 7pm, according to a press release.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Hatem said government policy support is essential to boost investment and industrial growth.

Bangladesh should not only attract foreign investors but also create a favourable environment to retain existing investors, he added.

The BKMEA chief also urged the government to simplify and speed up the certification process. Retaining existing investors would help attract new investment and create more jobs, he said.

The international trade show gives Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) sector an opportunity to explore sourcing options and connect directly with global suppliers, the press statement said.

Organised by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, the event features more than 150 local and international companies showcasing yarn, fabrics, garment accessories and textile chemicals, it added.

The show brings together garment manufacturers and exporters, buying houses and fabric processors with international suppliers to explore sourcing opportunities and meet their requirements locally.

Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, managing director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions, said the main objective of the show is to bring international suppliers closer to local exporters and manufacturers.

The exhibition features yarn for woven and knit garments, blended yarn, wool and suit fabrics, printed and sports fabrics, home fabrics, garment accessories, embroidery and hot-stamping technologies.
