JU's Heem Utshab concludes
Winter is an exciting and festive time for the Jahangirnagar University (JU) community. To welcome the season, students of the campus arranged a three-day-long winter fest from Thursday titled, Heem Utshab, which captured the local culture for the fourth consecutive time, with the theme, Su ashay kete jaak, kuashar ghor.

JU's largest lake neglected
Even just two years ago, Jayapara lake -- the largest lake on the campus of Jahangirnagar University -- would offer itself as a safe haven for local and migratory birds. These birds would be seen resting on the water or fluttering about among bloomed water lilies -- a sight people from all over the city would travel to JU for.

School offers more than education
Children at Sirajganj's Kagmari char are now free from the hassle of making risky journeys to school on boats. They thank O Aa Ka Kha School, the brainchild of Sirajganj resident Dr Nazmul Islam, for that. The school not only saves the little learners' time but also provides them with education materials at a monthly fee of Tk 10 only.
