Renowned musical couple Labik Kamal Gaurob and Nobonita Chowdhury have released Bondhu Doyamoy, a heartfelt cover of Radharaman Datta's original piece. Published by G-Series, the song was arranged by Gaurob himself, while the video was directed by Manju Ahmed. The heartfelt tribute, complete with contributions from Buno and AZM Rafsan, was appreciated by the audience this Eid.

National Award winning composer and music director Alauddin Ali passed away at the capital's Universal Medical College Hospital at 5:50 pm today. He was 68 years old at the time of passing, and was kept on life support as his condition deteriorated.

Ramendu Majumdar turns 79 today
Today marks the 79th birthday of renowned thespian and Ekushey Padak Awardee, Ramendu Majumdar. He is one of the founders of the troupe, Theatre, formed in 1972. He has been the President of International Theatre Institute (ITI) twice. Currently, he is the Honorary President of ITI. Unfortunately, the artiste tested positive for COVID-19 recently, and is staying at home in isolation. He talks about his plans for his birthday and more in a conversation with The Daily Star.

Liberation War Museum observes Hiroshima Day with an online exhibition
Liberation War Museum, in collaboration with Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Japan, arranged an online exhibition commemorating Hiroshima Day. The exhibition, titled, From disaster to a New Future, was inaugurated by H E Ito Naoki, Ambassador of Japan in Bangladesh. 75 years ago, on August 6, an atomic bomb was dropped in the city of Hiroshima and then three days later, in Nagasaki. The Liberation War Museum has been celebrating this day for the last few years to honour the victims of this tragedy.

Film actor Abdus Sattar passes away
Abdus Sattar, a renowned name in the film industry of Bangladesh, passed away at the age of 72 on August 4. In 2012, he suffered from a severe brain stroke and later, became paralyzed. He has been combatting several major health problems for a long time. He breathed his last on his way to Green Life Medical College & Hospital.
