The UN has adopted a resolution on the Rohingyas by consensus for the first time, demonstrating its solidarity with the victims of human rights violations and resolving to address the root causes and ensure their repatriation to Myanmar. This is the first time since 2017 -- after the last phase of Rohingya influx -- that the United Nations has adopted a resolution unanimously on the Rohingya issue.

Govt seeking new investors for rail projects after China pulls out
China pulled out of two of the largest railway projects -- Joydebpur-Ishwardi Double-Line Project budgeted at TK 14,250 crore and Akhaura-Sylhet Dual-Gauge Railway Line budgeted at TK 16,104 crore. Now the Bangladesh government is seeking new investors for these two projects which will improve connectivity of Dhaka with the north-east and north-west of the country respectively.
