Why such chaos at Dhaka airport?

For the last 11 days, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport management is allegedly on the brink of collapse. With flights getting delayed repeatedly, near stagnant immigration queues, severe shortage of trollies and seating arrangement, and other problems are making the experience of thousands of passengers stranded in the airport even more miserable.

The problem can be traced back to the construction of the 3rd Terminal of the airport. For the construction of its taxiways, authorities have decided to temporarily halt flights between 12 am and 8 am till June 6, 2022.

How exactly did the construction work generate so much disorder? What is the ground scenario of the airport's passenger services? Will this situation continue till June 6?
