The trap of antique coins

Several groups of local and international con artists are deceiving people out of crores by selling fake metal coins as valuable antiques.

They are connected to other such groups from home and abroad as well.

These fraud gangs usually target affluent collectors. One such group used to buy coins from the footpaths of Gulistan for 100 to 200 taka, and present them as original antiques. They lured people with false prospects of earning crores by selling these "artifacts", thus swindling lakhs from them.
