Police responsible for over half of all extrajudicial killings

A Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) report stated that Bangladesh police have been involved in 1.5 percent more extrajudicial killings than Rapid Action Battalion. Out of the 562 reported extrajudicial killings between 2019 and 2021, police were involved in more than half of them. Why are the members of the police department involved in extrajudicial killings? Will there be any solution to this issue without any international pressure?
