Payra Power Plant to be inaugurated tomorrow

Payra Power Plant, the country's biggest coal-fired power plant will be inaugurated tomorrow (March 21, 2022).

Bangladesh will achieve 100 percent electrification with this launch. The 1,320 MW power plant in Kalapara, Patuakhali, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Several activities will be held in Kalapara to commemorate the prime minister's visit. One of the highlights is a fleet of 220 colourfully adorned fishing boats.

With the help of local fishermen, various artworks have been painted on the boats at the Andharamanik River by a group of artists.
