Elderly, children, women not spared in Gazipur massacre during Liberation War

In 1971, after being tortured by the Pakistani army, people of Joydebpur and surrounding areas fled and took shelter in Bhawalbaria village of Gazipur. The Pakistani military entered the Hindu majority village of Bhawalbaria with Razakars and Al-Badr on a Friday afternoon, May 14.

Over 200 people were killed in arson and indiscriminate shooting.

During the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's victory, Star Special presents the story of the Bhawalbaria village massacre.
