Biman Bangladesh Airlines started its journey back in 1972 with a single DC-3 aircraft. Now, after 50 years it has 21 aircrafts in its fleet, including several that are state of the art. Yet, the national flag carrier is marred by persistent consumer dissatisfaction, receding number of destinations and over a thousand crore taka worth of debt. In its half a century of existence, what is Biman Bangladesh Airlines' achievement? Why is Biman yet to matter in the international aviation business?
