Can canopy bridges save the critically endangered hoolock gibbon?
Due to the Dhaka-Sylhet railway and Srimangal-Bhanugach road running through the reserve forest of Lawachara, many of the critically endangered hoolock gibbon species have died in accidents with cars and trains while crossing them. To save the habitat of the species, canopy bridges have been constructed throughout the forest by a team of researchers from Jagannath University.
The Daily Star published a report on the canopy bridge in Lawachara. Find the gist of the report in Star News+.
