Tamim to return for Dhaka Test?

Star Online Report

After Bangladesh defeated the West Indies for the first time on home soil earlier in the day, more good news followed as Tamim Iqbal's return to the side is seemingly on the cards.

The Tigers clinched a 64-run win to take a 1-0 lead two-match Test series in Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium earlier today, ahead of the second Test in Dhaka from November 30.

Tamim was not included in the 13-member squad for the first match as he had suffered a side strain in training. However, the left-handed opener batted against spinners in the nets today and looked comfortable.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan was also optimistic regarding Tamim's return for the Mirpur Test.

"It will be a relief for us if Tamim gets fit for the second Test and hopefully he will be fit to play the game," Shakib said during the post-match press conference.

Although the opener has a bright chance of returning in the second Test, the Bangladesh Cricket Board will wait till the last moment before making a final decision.
