IM Neer beats GM Glek to keep winning run
IM Manon Reza Neer maintained his winning streak in the Vezerkepzo Summer 2026 GM Tournament with a win over Belgian Grandmaster Igor Glek in his second match in Budapest, Hungary, on Monday.
Neer, playing with the white pieces, produced an impressive performance to overcome the experienced Glek and move to the top of the table with a maximum two points from two matches. He had beaten Indian FIDE Master Vaibhav Jayant Raut in his opening match on Sunday.
Players from Bangladesh, Belgium, Hungary, India, the Netherlands, Serbia and Chinese Taipei are taking part in the 10-round tournament, which features three Grandmasters, five International Masters and two FIDE Masters.
