Holders Bashundhara Kings carried on business as usual as they brushed aside Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club with a 3-0 victory in their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) fixture at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on Saturday.

With nine games in as many games, Kings have improved their lead over second-placed Abahani to nine points, albeit with a game in hand. Sheikh Jamal, on the other hand, drop down to fifth.

Elsewhere, a 78th minute strike from Venezuelan Edward Morillo aided Bangladesh Police in reaching third position in the 11-team table with a 1-0 win over Muktijoddha SKC in Gopalganj, while bottom dwellers Rahmatganj MFS edged past Abahani Chittagong by the same margin in Munshiganj.

At the Kings Arena, after a period of resistance, Oscar Bruzon's charges eventually broke the deadlock in the 37th minute as Sheikh Jamal paid the price for defending a bit too deep. Jamal defender inside the box did clear the initial danger, having headed clear a cross from the left, but later the ball fell on a silver platter for the unmarked Uzbek Asror Gofurov, who found the bottom corner with a fiery right-footed drive taken on the first touch from just outside the box.

Afterwards, two second-half strikes from ever-reliable Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes Nascimento, also known as Dori, ensured Kings carry their marauding run.
