The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is determined to keep the integrity of the country's football intact by taking appropriate action against the culprits behind the alleged match-fixing in the Bangladesh Championship League.

"A lot of reports regarding the match-fixing, spot-fixing and match-manipulation in Bangladesh Championship League have been published in the national media," BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag told reporters yesterday.

"Thus, the BFF fixed-match detection committee today [yesterday] sat to discuss details of those media reports and the individuals, especially the club officials, players and coaches who are allegedly involved with these allegations," Shohag added.

"The committee also discussed their next course of action, where those alleged individuals will be interrogated, on April 13 and 16, in an attempt to unearth the truth.

"We have previously stated our stance is zero per cent tolerance towards match-fixing, spot-fixing, match-manipulation because it is harming the purity of the country's football.

"To keep the integrity of football intact, we are determined to punish all culprits, like what we did in last season which was praised not only in Bangladesh but beyond the territory as well,'' concluded the BFF general secretary.
